We are committed to environmental welfare by protecting our natural resources and taking care of our
environment through sustainable agriculture and production practices.
We take all steps necessary to ensure that we do not impact negatively on the environment and to decrease our carbon footprint measurement.
Reducing our Carbon Footprint
We capture milk solids from a separator desludger to prevent these from entering the municipal sewer system.
In 2019 we changed our Fair Cape Eco-Fresh milk bottle from white PET to clear PET.
See why we did this: PETCO Gamechanger Awards 2019.
Since October 2018 we have been generating renewable energy at our milking parlour.
We capture milk/solids from separator desludge to prevent entering the municipal sewer system.
We had our Eco-Fresh carbon footprint measured in 2012 and reassessed in 2015.
We constantly strive to implement actions that contribute towards carbon reduction.
Our farming practices follow a firm commitment to sustainable agriculture. As part of our sustainable agriculture policy we have achieved the following:
Restore the natural biological balance in our agricultural soil.
Reduced the use of chemical fertilisers by 20%.
Implemented eco-friendly farming practices.
Operate our milking parlour based on Eco-Fresh methods since 2005.
